Slacko (32 bit) 6.3.0 can't enable Wireless interface

#1 Post by PetRose »

Using a previous Slacko version, I managed to get wireless working, and then I decided to refresh my Pyppy image, and now I cannot get WLAN working at all.

HW: LG X110 Netbook with builtin Realtek PCI Wireless and Ethernet card.

It has worked, once it ran Linux Mint 17, 32bit, but then I decided to change to Puppy Linux, for no reason. It was when I had the 6.2 version, and it went alright with my hardware, but after I upgraded to 6.3.0, the WLAN interface is no near working.
Fn+F11 attempted
Fn+F6 (builting WLAN Enabler) works with LED, but it loads no module
Reboots, plenty attempted

I can see the ethernet driver (for RTL8101E PCI Express) r8169 is loaded alright (and working when wired), but my wireless RTL8187SE (MSI PCI) is not recoqnized at all.
Had attempted to load the RTL8187SE PET (the coffelius0.4 version from 2008), but it makes no difference.

Any ideas ?

Open a terminal and run the command: lspci -nnk

Locate the Network Controller section and identify the vendor:product ID codes for your adapter, like [10ec:8199].

Is a driver being loaded for it?
