How to change the default browser?
I tried to adjust the default browser to Firefox but had to go pawing through bin and share files etc to little avail . Ended up I just stuck a link to the bin file on the desktop to load it directly.
Doing other things I noticed there is a pet to change the default browser so I downloaded and installed it . It told me that it had been installed in "setup" in the menus so there I went only to NOT find it.
So who tests these before lumbering them on the unsuspecting users ? This happens often where the menu update does not happen . If I knew the terminal command I would try that but I don't.
In fact it put an icon down in the tray which I did not expect . It told me it had put it in "Setup"
There should be one area to change all application defaults to what you choose but I don't see anything like that atm. _________________ Neither my Family nor my Property are Government issues. Governments should do what they were designed to do Manage the larger issues best done by Governments

Right click on the desktop "browse" icon. Select "show location".
locate "defaultbrowser" in the folder (/usr/local/bin/), right click on the file, and choose "open as text".

yep thanks ,I had hit on this file but was trying to avoid the changing of the script. After a while you don't remember what you changed and on a new install you have to go backwards again.
Actually I d/l firefox to its own directory and changed your line therefore.
I did not have the "run mozilla.sh " in mine though . What does that do ?
Edit It made my utube videos play again -Thanks heaps _________________ Neither my Family nor my Property are Government issues. Governments should do what they were designed to do Manage the larger issues best done by Governments
