This is sakura compiled on racy 5.3 on an Asus-1005HAG/HGO netbook frugal installed on micro sd card 1GB RAM, no swap .

They have been compiled simply './configure' OR 'cmake . && make' .

They go to /usr/local/*

They are split into EXE,DOC,DEV,NLS .

The .pets are packed into this single .sfs NOT to be able to load it at boot time, but for simply clicking on the .sfs to access the .pets .

The .pets should install as usual .

Since racy uses a glic-2.10.1 I guess they should run on Lupu/Lucid glibc-2.11.x and Slacko glibc-2.13.x .

I don't expect them to run on Puppy4 glibc-2.6.1 and LighthousePup-443 glibc-2.9.x .

For these Puppies please check out :

Update :

Just tested the installation on a dpup-005 by iguleder which runs the
stock 'linux_kernel-2.6.33.2-tickless_smp_patched-L3.pet'
with glibc-2.11.2
which came out in the time of Lupu-511

and it worked out_of_the_box just installing the two mains

sakura-2.4.2-i686.pet
vte-0.28.2-i686.pet

from the above attached .sfs

They both have a size of 'ls -s -> 405KB' which should expand to approx. 1,6MB installed .

I like urxvt too, but it is lacking tabs, the possibility for a background image and most important, it is possible to scroll back in sakura even when there is output from for example ' make ' .

A small note : When adjusting the options in sakura, please close sakura and launch it again, for new instances of sakura won't read '$HOME/.config/sakura/sakura.conf' if another instance of sakura is running .

Enjoy !

The opacity can be adjusted by the right-click menu : Options > Set opacity level . The lesser , the more transparent .

For the background : attached default background from iguleders dpup series (007, was last with default 2.6.33.2 kernel, later had 2.6.35/36 kernels ) .

Just wanted to note, that because of configured to /usr/local i had to run

Code: Select all

ldconfig
on one Puppy to make it find the vte libs .

And another thing to mention are windowmanagers like enlightenment e17 or some pure Xserver backgrounds that somehow are not able to work with the transparency option in sakura .
