Conky pet for Slacko |
|
Is anyone up to the challenge of making such a beast?
Reproduced below is a mock up of my current 5.3.2.7 desktop with a superimposed image of the conky display from MetroPuppy. IMHO it would add a bit of polish.

Hello.
I believe there are quite a few pets for conky. Maybe it's as simple as you installing the conky pet, and then copying the configuration file .conkyrc which is in "MetroPuppy" as /root/.conkyrc in your regular Puppy.
Otherwise, there are lots of conky configurations to choose from on the Web, for example, starting here:
http://www.info.com/searchw?qkw=conky+designs&qcat=web&q=&qhqn=&KW=
Best of luck.

Yesterday I took my first look at Saluki (v19) which does have a conky pet available and then successfully implanted the configuration from MetroPuppy. Today, taking your advice, I used the same pet in Slacko 5.3.2.7 and once again success! It would seem that the kernel versions are close enough not to upset Conky.
Thanks for your interest and advice.
With regard to these pups they both have fantastic merit and IMHO BOTH should become official pups. (Why not two?)
Slacko is likely to appeal more to hardcore enthusiasts and Saluki to newcomers due to its user friendliness and easy configurability.

ETP? I really love your "observation lounge" wallpaper that you're using in your Saluki shot there! That is one awesome desktop wallpaper if I must say so myself. Thanks for showing that.
Do you remember the link where you found it perhaps?

AWESOME!! Thank you soooo very much CatDude, my fine Puppian friend! You've never let me down!
That just looks fantastic on my desktop... that shot from space, while purely imaginery, is spellbinding indeed.
Thank you again for your help CatDude as I truly appreciate it. What an addition to my collection! -two thumbs up-
Cheers/Amicalement,
