I test compiled dbus with source I had in script.
# configure the package
./configure $BASE_CONFIGURE_ARGS \
--prefix=/usr \
--libexecdir=/usr/lib$LIBDIR_SUFFIX/dbus-1.0 \
--with-system-pid-file=/var/run/dbus/pid \
--disable-asserts \
--disable-checks \
--disable-verbose-mode \
--disable-tests \
--disable-gcov \
--disable-selinux \
--disable-libaudit \
--disable-dnotify \
--enable-inotify \
--disable-kqueue \
--disable-userdb-cache \
--with-xml=expat \
--with-x

And.....this is what I got...after stripping and splitting...
The uploaded pets are just example that the dbus compile did work. I dont recommed to use them....
I dont have intention to compile core packages if there isnt any serious problem with them. I am going to use Precise Pangolin packages with woof download in the future also. If someone finds serious problem and solution to the it...with recompile...please post full story....compiling options in ./configure and what solution you got with it.
It would help my small brains to understand the need to update core packages....

Oh yeah....I do have full less in build but should it be named as less-FULL when the busybox one is not used ?

I have now played a lot with sns - Frisbee - dhcpcd.

Frisbee uses it`s own patched dhcpcd. The dhcpcd hooks are common...Frisbee ones amongst the original dhcpcd compiled ones.

I have now compiled dhcpcd in Upup Precise which sns uses.
/usr/sbin has the dhcpcd with sns uses.
/usr/local/sbin/dhcpcd has the Frisbee used one...sns does not work with it.

Atm no symlinks so....hopefully no interfering.....

But...if you create wireless profile with Frisbee or with sns they surely interferes each other and leads to non automatically connected wireless connection.

Having several wireless wizards makes things difficult...and I really dont understand all the logics behind sns and Frisbee scripts...in fact quite little of them...they are higher mathematic that I can understand.

I know that Saluki has improved Frisbee...but I dont know if sns works better with it.

I will continue my experiments with time I have....

Hi pemasu:
I just finished going through this thread for the first time. I would like to wish you all the bests with your surgery and job business. I hope everything will go well and you will have a fast recovery.
I will download upop 5.3.3.3 and will be testing it as well.
Good luck!
Regards

The place to read it should be /var/lib/dbus/machine-id

That audacious deb surely needs some modification if you are gonna use it.

Just tested audacious deb. I let it download all else but not those dconf stuff. I have created smaller pet based versions of them and they as stripped included already.

Audacious from the Precise Pangolin debs worked oob. It plays music atm on the background...lol.

I think the dbus failure might be self caused, by compiling dbus yourself ?

How about checking where you have the machine-id and create symlink from it to the asked place....or if you dont have machine-id....create it with dbus-uuidgen and place the code inside machine-id file...which you create from blank file...it works...I have had need to do so....with some my puplets.

Gtk3 lookout is not there....so the audacious app lookout is terrible.

4 reboots from a clean frugal install. Still no wlan appearing in Frisbee or Network Wizard. I PMed the diagnostic output to peebee.
And sent to me, as well. Thank you, zekebaby, for reporting the problem. I got snookered by an inconsistency in the definition of the SKIPLIST variable in the MODULESCONFIG file. Although it is initially defined surrounded by double quotes, when BootManager updates that variable, it defines the string with single quotes!

This means that the magical script that switches the selected driver may fail to blacklist the proprietary driver, so the open-source driver never gets used. I attach another "broadcom-fix" package containing the corrected file, /lib/modules/all-firmware/wl/etc/init.d/broadcom-sta, as well as the previous firmware-association fix (in case it is needed).

Pemasu, please replace that script file in the next release, if there is to be one. Thanks.
