Someone should modify PPM |
|
Hi All,
It's possible that I don't understand how Puppy Package Manager works. But, if that's the case, better instructions should be written into it. As I understand it, with the exception of Saluki, if you choose to update the available packages you get, essentially, all or nothing. Once it starts updating you're given the choice of updating the "packages" from a repository by pressing "Enter" or aborting by pressing "any other key, then Enter." You don't have the choice of just updating, for example "puppy-lucid-official."
The result is that to update, again for example, "puppy-lucid-official" you end up downloading the package lists for Puppy-1, Puppy-3, Ubuntu-lucid-multiverse and others: lists you (a) probably will never use, and (b) eat up your SaveFile.
In short, once "update" is initiated there should be three choices as to each repository: "update", "skip" and "abort."
Sorry I can't write the modification myself.
