evening all,
totally and utterly brand new to this Linux melarky.i've already wasted half the day trying to install ubuntu before i found my chosen laptop was lacking in ram to run it!!
anyways-
i have Puppy 5.2.8 working from CD on a old Dell Inspiron 8100 (specs here), (actually 128mb ram & 30gb drive).
so far so good.
I am trying to use a Ralink rt2800 wireless dongle to access web (or even by ethernet cable if i could!).
The Network wizard shows the following-
Interface- wlan0
Type- wireless
module- rt2800usb
descprition- usb:ralink 802.11n WLAN.
scanning for networks shows me nothing
i read this thread-
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 360#513360
and downloaded, copied, and "installed" the file. but still no joy.
am i doing something very wrong here?
any help most appreciated. i only want to be able to get on to the internet using Puppy- i'm no stranger to computers, but Linux is something completely new to me.
many thanks in advance.
