Lucid Puppy won't shut down, goes back to desktop |
|
Day two of running Lucid Puppy 5.2.8 and today it started acting weird so did a complete re-install. When I try to exit, I click on Menu, go to Shutdown, go to Power Off Computer. Gets as far as the text saying something like Lucid Now Shutting Down, but instead of shutting down it automatically goes back to the desktop at full power again.
Any ideas?

Try this test:
Use the pfix=ram boot option at startup.
Then shut down and do not save.
By the way, how is Lucid installed on your computer?
(frugal, full, etc.?)

Moreover, while this patch is working fine, I have noticed that all my FS must be unmounted to achieve a correct shutdown ou reboot. If a FS (sda1, sda2) have the mounted indicator on, my shutdown ou reboot present the same default ( ie : recall the desktop with the fall of lan connection)

Yep! Same problem reported by various users... As it turned out, more solutions were suggested in the other thread than here.

I had the problem some months ago and have forgotten
how I found a solution to it.
I hope that NW9T tells us which solution worked on his machine.
