Is there a way to create PET or SFS with everything necessary to Fatdog64 and LightHouse64?

I have LightHouse64-B2 loaded on my laptop and would really like to actually finally use my hdhomerun.

If not perhaps someone associated with the LH64 project might leverage what you have learned to create a PET or SFS?

I took a quick look at making a PET file. The pet creator requires a working "make install". The problem is the install script failed and I wound up doing the install manually.

I saw some posts concerning, freezing and tearing. I first tried using Slacko 5.5 with 32 bit ATI driver and got severe tearing. It just wasn't fast enough. FATDOG64 hdhomerun 1080 video is rock solid with xload around 70%.

It is a shame you haven't gotten it to work at all because it is an amazing device. Try the Windows version just to check that your hardware is working. You can download the Windows installation EXE file from SiliconDust > Support.

I searched YouTube under "hdhomerun setup" and all the hits were people describing setup and operation under Windows Media Center.

The Windows HDhomerun GUI is much superior to the Linux hdhomerun_config_gui.

I don't use any Microsoft version of windows at all, I dislike the company or the interface - I'm a Linux-only guy.

Could you post a paint-by-numbers set of instructions to manually install in FatDog64 (which I am guessing is essentially the same as LH64 - so it should work there as well), please?

Presume that I won't guess right about any - even minor - step.

It would be real-awesome to get this working!

You need to ask the FATDOG64 team to help you with installation since it will depend on your specific hardware. It took me days to get fatdog installed. Lots of trial and error and I am not sure what really worked. Strange, since I have had no problems building live-usb systems for the exact same hardware using Slacko and Lucid.

OK, thanks, I posted a request and link on the LightHouse64 thread - I don't use FatDog.

I'm having an odd problem with a wifi nic in a Dell laptop when using Wheezy and upup Raring but not Lucid - I wonder what changed?

When you refer to "live USB" what devices are you running successfully?

I have SIIG and Hauppauge dongles for converting from analog to digital which LH64 refuses to even to recognize.

I also have a Terratec SDR USB device that is also not recognized by LH64.

None of the three play nicely with upup Raring either.

I have no idea how to proceed.

Screenshot of how HDhomerun config menu looks like. Does basic functions of scanning channels, physical channel selection and sub-programs like MeTV, ION, ANTENNA. Record function can only be done using command line. This station is putting out a 1080 signal. I am using a cheap rabbit ear antenna and getting great reception. The wireless-g network rate is shown around 14 Mbps but can get as high as 20 Mbps.

Actually I wish I had an answer for viewing HDTV in any way.

It refers to Ubuntu but the installation of the two files should be possible in Puppy - from the link given in your original post.

The reference to getting it working on the PC will require someone with Ubuntu experience to translate the steps to suit Puppy.

libhdhomerun and hdhomerun downloaded and installed fine with no extra dependencies.

hdhomerun-gui had 31 dependencies.

It would be cool if this could be run from a Raspberry pi or a BeagleBone-Black.

Will see what happens tomorrow when I plug in the Silicon Dust device & fire-up hdhomerun ...

follow the instructions.

The "make install" will fail but THREE binary files will be built.
Takes a little effort to find them.

Please disregard - the GUI is working after overnight shutdown then reboot.

Combined with VLC it's a winner!

Question: Why would a channel with a Signal Strength of 93% have zero in Signal Quality and Symbol Quality, please?

I didn't use PPM. I built from source code directly from silicondust.

The two directory scheme you see is the way Silicondust set up their makefiles.

Open a terminal window and cd to the where hdhomerun_config executable is located and issue the command

#./hdhomerun_config discover

If that works , then issue the scan channels command from my previous post.

Tell me what you see.

I'm trying to prep things for an update from 20120405 to 20130328 and am looking at a bunch of files and folders - I'd like to avoid duplicates with pieces of old and new scattered about - what I want to do is to over-write the old with the new.

if you can't find it there , look for a subdirectory libhdhomerun

inside that subdirectory along with a mess of c files should be an executable hdhomerun_config
