I had a similar problem not too long ago -

But that was for a newer version of Puppy. I don't know if you can be helped, unless there is a driver out there already compiled, or at least kernel sources you can compile against.
No doubt some will suggest you upgrade to Lucid...
In my case, I just needed the right firmware for my card.
