Precise puppy 5.2.60 with kernel 3.3.8 for Atom cpu

I compiled kernel 3.3.8 eol for cpu atom (compilated with netbook atom N450) with No Forced Preemption (Server), no support for 4gb and more ram, on precise puppy 5.2.60.
No changes on the original iso.
It is a base for a puplet.
This iso work well on netbook and atom boards, it has compressed with gzip for faster boot (large iso, 170M), but work well on new cpu.
At boot use 37-45M ram.

Sorry to ask but I dont know how to solve the download problem with rapid gator. It might be my service ... not sure. Not smart enough to know. But I have the atom n450 and am trying to get a linux that I can run from flash drive that supports it. I'd love to try yours but have not been able to download it. Is there another way to get it?

Thanks Loyal

Welcome to Puppy mate.

You just click on the link.

For yourself click on the >> Slow Download.

Wait 15 seconds

then a link appears with a password

type that in and hit >> Enter....whatever

then the ISO download button appears.

Downloading it now as a test.

@Chris, is this for real? Perpetual loop. I was not able to make any headway on the download either.

@Speedyluck your screeny indicates a flatline on your CPU of half throttle. Is it like that all the time?

What about other Pups like Akita or Legacy OS work with ATOM N270?

Thanks Chris!
Worked a charm

The latest linux kernels have optimzed the ATOM CPU. I hope the ATOM becomes more popular. I found a KINGDEL NC270 MiniPC w/2G DDR2, $150US and it includes a nifty enclosure.

Not everyone wants/needs an HDMI port but overall still has a pretty good spec.

This is the kind of appliance you can give to your friends, family or co-workers and introduce them to Puppy. Load up Psip/Skype/TeamViewer...etc. for your portable communications needs. I found that TeamViewer host will not work on ARM. (needs x86 CPU)

Hi speedyluck

What a nice puppy - runs really well and is fast on my ram challenged
Acer laptop.

Not tried on the EeePc yet but will do soon, it has the celeron processor, but it should be ok.

Many thanks for your work and for sharing - Luvly Puppy.

Very best regards - Ray
