Disable gecko mediaplayer in Firefox

For some reason, mp3 files were automatically downloading to my gnome-mplayer cache, while the browser froze after loading the media player. Removing all the gecko files from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins got the desired download dialog working again. I'm currently using exprimo and firefox 13.1
