"Simple Network Setup" bug-alike(s)

#1 Post by n1mnal »

(Possibly-unintended consequences of design simplicity; discovered
using Lucid Puppy 528.005.)

1) If too many networks are present, the CONNECT button is pushed off
the bottom of the window and there's no way to reach it (that I
could find).

2) (perhaps too unusual?) Network profiles are identified by
network name; name duplication causes "mystifying" problems.
(Our public library has several branches; each branch uses the
same network id, sometimes on more than one network
interface (WiFi channel?) per branch; a profile saved at one
branch won't work at another, and can't (?) be replaced
at the other branch because (?) the network id is the same (?).

Luckily I was able to connect by using another puppy network
utility that I hadn't until then known was in the system.

This is a problem with long lists, that make window too long, where program does not breakup list into columns.

Work around to move window past edge of screen:
Alt button hold.
Left mouse button click on window and hold.
Move mouse around.

Note:
Placement of mouse pointer is important.
The location of the pointer, is the limit of movement past edge of screen.
The window will move the full range of the mouse pointer on screen.
Just move, to different location of mouse pointer, to change movement amount with window.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
