that is the question...
a lot of thread have the subject
«pipapo alpha 3»
but it is really rare to read:
«good new for all: since today beta 3 is now alpha»
or
«alpha 3 is since today stable, hurrah!»
why never/rarely really such lucky news at the puppy forum?
alpah, beta, gamma, ... alpha3! no stable version any more
does not want to answer newbies questions,
Not to be paid is freedom. Like artists, our devs produce what they like to produce, without having to satisfy sponsors.
Alpha means only it is a prototype, should not be released if the dev does not like his work, or does not want to answer newbies questions, ignoring everything of Linux science.
it's homework in fact.. often alone.

I test Fatdog's alpha, beta release, while keeping RC or Final version on backup.
You just have to wait for them to mature and alphas will be beta, then RC then Final.
Alpha, Beta threads tend to have more discussion as the feedbacks and fixes are on that thread. And so are prominent on forum.
Stable release thread should rightfully quiet.
But that's my thinking.
