Subject description: can`t install mplayer

Reloaded the package manager installed mplayer and all dependencies then I get an error saying I`m lacking several dependcies. I`m baffled. What`s the point of having a package manager if it doesn`t pick up all the dependecies?. Same with Xine. How should I proceed? Like this version of gnome. It`s unique and I appreciate all your hard work. Never used Slack so perhaps I`m out of my depth. Thanks in advance
