I like what you have done with 2.32

I did try and do cinnamon but I really don't know much about compiling.

I like gnome 3 as well it would be great too if this could also be done through woof. Maybe a dev would like to help you do this.

What do you think?

Cheers

Just made an interesting discovery........ during my first test on the newish quad-core using the "nouveau" driver there was no wallpaper or menu icons but now on my old Athlon XP box with an old Nvidia card using "nv" everything appears normal.Cool.

Thanks for your opinion ! :)

You're absolutely right, but I do not know where and who to ask, any help you can give will be welcome. :D
I'll search, good idea!

@ James C, You have successfully installed the drivers?
Personally, this has not been a success, because he gives me gnome-shell.
Is there a way to return to a Gnome Basic with the drivers installed?

Apologies again, I meant no disrespect.

I simply do not like Gnome 3. I'd rather use Cinnamon.

Thank you for making an LXDE puppy, by the way. It looks nice.

I'd like to see an Equinox puppy one day. It's a really good and lightweight desktop, it's not well known though.

Think no more, a small difference of taste, I have not had to look cool either.
I hope you enjoy CheckMate.

EDE ? Maybe, but later  I had to cut out

Have I missed something? Few little bugs with the menus, Had to change the print screen script to get it to work, works well for me. Wine for my favorite graphics program's l albeit only in Wine ver. 1. Maybe you should go the whole mile and create a larger iso with everything like LHP? That would be the Ubuntu/Mint version of Puppy :)

Hi ! :)

This is the first ISO for Gnome 3.2, you, you have version 2.32 of Gnome, which is more stable.
A larger ISO? I would, I'll put more Gnome applications like Gimp, Gthumb and LibreOffice as well.
if you want, I have a package for converting Puppy into Ubuntu.

Some bugs in 3.2. Locks up on playing flash in Seamonkey. Getflash is wrong version. Computer link on desktop not working. Wrong script for screen. Hangs on boot with mouse and background only! Looks cool while it worked :)

Yes, these statements first problems will be easily corrected. When you talk of crash with the wallpaper only, have you installed the video drivers?

Installed the (mesa?) driver! I think you are actually going in the right direction here, most peoples computer kit can run Gnome with no issues, except maybe a slight delay on opening some applications. I am using a P4 1.8ghz with 512mb ram and 64mb graphics card with slowish 233mhz ddr ram! Once the new version is more developed I will give it another try.

The video drivers are stopping gnome 3 because this will enable Gnome-shell which itself is not installed ...
I prepare a session, which takes you back under gnome basic.

Getting Gnome to work with Puppy is no small feat, and I've always liked the look of the Mint desktop. Now the community has an OS with Mint looks and Puppy speed; Great work!

with the terminal problem, maybe try LXTerminal and see how you like it.
(requires VTE pet as well)

Hi Tman !

I'm glad Gnome to be successful! :D It's very encouraging!

I just finished the latest version of MATE for slacko, I find it more stable, all applets working. I can do without the Chinese calendar now
Mate? still mint linux ! :D
I think replacing Gnome 2.32 by Mate.
