Helloooo !
Sorry I'm late!

@ pemasu :Will reduce the ISO, thanks for the tips !
Yeah; SVG are needed here, but I'll remove large icons.

@ roadkill13 : ok, I will try to fix it.

@ playdayz : In V2, trash is working  , the package needed is GVFS.

@ Gnuxo : I think we need to distinguish between "light" and "minimalist". LXDE can't be like JWM.

Thanks again James C for MD5, I forgot again... :(

I just noticed that Checkmate hasn't fully been translated.

I created a quick copy of the defaultconnect script for easy access to the network managers on the desktop and the right click menu for editing text files is in french.

I was also wondering if *stay connected to the internet* could be added to the distro.

Has anyone had success getting frisbee to work? I'm really frustrated that the connection keeps dropping.

yeah, ok, this is not "fully" translated ...
Don't install frisbee or Pwireless, they do not work, and I have no idea what can cause this.
Are you alone? Or others have the same problem connecting?

I'm new to the forum so hi to everyone.

Nice job on this, I've tried a few different Puppies like Lupu, Mac, RacyNOP etc...and this is by far my favorite.

I've noticed a few issues like some of the right click context menus have 1 listing in french, pNethood and pFind use ROX instead of PCMan and the trashbin is full of stuff.

Other than that, this is a great little OS and I could see myself using this as my number one portable.

-Wifi, Frisbee ???

I also cannot type my WPA key into Frisbee - pristine frugal install with no changes from OOTB.....(in common with petit-pois)

I think you need to ask Jemimah what might be the cause - I seem to recall there was a similar issue with Saluki and Jemimah created a new version of Frisbee for that puppy - but can't find the thread discussion....

wifi connects OK through SNS

not tried netwiz

Thanks

Even though Wifi connects ok via SNS, it disconnects far too often.
On other puppies my wifi doesn't disconnect.

I'm thinking it could be an old version for Carl9170-1.fw, I'm going to try and drop the newest version 1.96 into /usr/lib and hopefully it will fix that.

If that doesn't fix it, then Carl9170-1.fw will have been the newest all along and I'll need to wait for a fix.

Hello Peebee,

Do you think I can send her a PM directly?

I am sure that would be OK - http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/profil ... le&u=19599

She has been a bit quiet of late on this forum - you could also try through the Saluki forum - http://saluki-linux.com/Contactme/contact.php

I tried running Frisbee from the terminal to get some diagnostic messages - attached - remove the fake .gz - I typed in my actual 10 character wpa key and this was shown in the output but I've replaced it by 0123456789 in the attached.

It looks to me like in the final /usr/local/sbin/wpa_cli command that fails that a long string is being passed as a parameter rather than just the 10 character typed key.....

Cheers

Ok, Thanks, I send a PM.
Unfortunately, I'm not good in networking and programming. :?
I will send along your report to Jeminah, I hope it will tell her more.

For comparison, here is the equivalent report from slacko....as you can see the key gets passed as the parameter....

I suspect its a problem with the gui - has your build overwritten or replaced something that works differently in slacko??

Just for fun of it...I tested devx sfs and I compiled latest dhcpcd with it. Compiled ok. Latest dhcpcd works for me. I believe reboot is appropriate after installing this pet so that new dhcpcd is in use. Or if you havent connected to the net before...maybe it works straight. In console dhcpcd stop and dhcpcd start didnt work for me. It didnt connect before I rebooted.

This dhcpd is for sns usage. Frisbee usually has its own setup.

Also....for me qtweb has small fonts in the menu. The usual hack for it is to include Trolltech file in /root/.config. You can change the qt fonts by editing that file manually also.

Resize personal storage file is also not working. On reboot I get an error window that X did not shut down properly and an option to ignore or go to command prompt and the file size remains the same.

Trying out new v3.

When inputting my WEP key into Frisbee, I still got the following error. *Set Hex Password Failed*

Yes, I know it did that from the beginning.
The v3 does not correct this defect, otherwise I would have noticed.

Do you know why Frisbee does that?

...And also, has the disconnecting issue been fixed? I am wondering if anyone else has had that problem. Maybe LXDE has an issue with my particular usb dongle.
