How about Puppy for the Smartphones? |
|
I think it's been suggested before, by me if nobody else.
Perhaps Ubuntu was listening:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57424335-94/androids-new-ally-against-the-iphone-ubuntu/
But Puppy could do as well or better: a full desktop when plugged into a dock & a full desktop when not.
For the tech savy, see also http://androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-development/how-to-install-ubuntu-on-android/, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udc7aLd9Ig4.
P.S., If rebuilding an adroid OS is necessary for your phone, Android_sdk, can be run from /mnt/home in Precise, Lupu and perhaps other Pups.
Moderators, feel free to move this post to Projects or elsewhere.

Quote: | Because Ubuntu is so lean, the entire Ubuntu software stack only takes up about 2GB, and that includes apps for e-mail, Web browsing, photo editing, music, and other basic stuff. |
