How about Puppy for the Smartphones?

I think it's been suggested before, by me if nobody else.
Perhaps Ubuntu was listening:

But Puppy could do as well or better: a full desktop when plugged into a dock & a full desktop when not.

P.S., If rebuilding an adroid OS is necessary for your phone, Android_sdk, can be run from /mnt/home in Precise, Lupu and perhaps other Pups.

Because Ubuntu is so lean, the entire Ubuntu software stack only takes up about 2GB, and that includes apps for e-mail, Web browsing, photo editing, music, and other basic stuff.
