Puppy MPD on MacBook Air

#1 Post by clar2391 »

I'd like to try Puppy MPD on my MacBook Air before I buy a dedicated music server PC. I realize this is probably overkill, but I'd like to see (and hear) it in action. I've tried all the ways I can find to create a bootable USB flash drive, but none of them seem to work on the MacBook Air. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I suppose you installed rEFIt on your Mac.

Anyways, try it on a non-Mac to see if it was created correctly. Don't forget to set the boot flag on the USB stick's partition.

I personally don't know much about MPD.

You could always try something else though. I have an older version (I think the last stable version) of Songbird on Three Headed Dog (but works on Lucid or any Lucid derivative), and it's great, like iTunes but works much better and doesn't eat away your memory. FatDog64 600-601 also works great on Intel Macs, but for this, and most Puppies, you need to have a CD player (USB or internal) and burn the .iso to CD.
