Making Puppy more user friendly.
I will start a post describing mi experience with Puppy but so far I can point out that getting info to solve issues without internet is a big problem. It should include a FAQ in all distros to the mos common problems.
How to connect to Internet via proxy server? (Solved)
So menu->help does not provide the information you think is needed?
Each item on the Quicksetup (what you see at first initial boot) has a help next to it.
One big problem about having a FAG for Puppy is no two Puppies are exactly the same.
Also, someone has to volunteer to write the FAG.
Most versions of the official Puppies have release notes posted.
These tell you any info needed about known problems at the time.
Most Puppy, core programs, give you help as you use the program.
Other programs have a help you can access.
After you get Internet access.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

Actually menu -> help isn´t very helpful at this point. It as no info on internet connections via Ethernet with proxy server and that's where i´m stuck. The rest seems very good info and i´ll get to it as soon as i can put mi internet to work.bigpup wrote:So menu->help does not provide the information you think is needed?

I really don´t mind doing that if u think is helpful, for what i´ve seen in the forum there are a few key ( and i think common ) issues to go to the FAQ to start it. The rest is well addressed here.bigpup wrote:

I found this, not sure if this is still correct.
The part about getting to browser settings using about:config should work for Seamonkey, Firefox, and any Mozilla browsers.
