Adjust LCD brightness on hp elitebook///SOLVED///

#1 Post by capicoso »

Hey, before asking i searched on the forum. The problem is none of the answers could help me. Xgamma controls gamma... i need to adjust brightness. I tried with xbacklight but it says there is no backlight output compatibility. Also in my /proc/acpi folder i have no video folder. Anyone? The graphics is an intel gma HD card..

Which model are you using?

The linlap.com suggest this fix for the 8540

The fn+f9,f10 keys (screen brightness/backlight) can be enabled by

editing /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-laptop-panel-hardware.fdi at line 27 so that it reads:

match key=

Hey. I forgot, it's an 8440p. I think i read that back then when i was trying to fix it, but gave up. Instead of that i have

Code: Select all

/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/20thirdparty
thanks
