I have just tried Puppy 5.3.3 on two laptops. One one of those with a 5xxx Atheros WLAN chipset, the WLAN interface is extremely slow. Takes 30-40s to load a simple web page. Ethernet interface works fine. On the other laptop I have no problem.
I have a WPA protected setup, and have not tried without encryption (do not want to have a public setup).
Any idea how to solve this? Since this is an old piece of hardware I guess the driver should be stable. Or is there an update available?
EDIT: I enabled a hotspot on my cellphone without encryption. WLAN worked flawless over this connection. So my taking is there is a problem with the Atheros driver in the 5.3.3. Do anyone know of an update, and how do I apply this?
WLAN connection extremely slow
