dimmed files on USB stick

#1 Post by rmcellig »

Booted into Linux Mint 13 MATE
A inserted a USB stick into my laptop and noticed that the files were dimmed. o option to copy or anything. I was unable to do anything.

Booted into Puppy Linux 5.2.8
I could read and write to the drive no problem.

Can you explain why everything worked fine in Puppy? Is this a permissions issue and I was root user in Puppy?

I was so happy because My reliable Puppy OS came to the rescue again!!

Yes, I think so. To confirm, try to do something being root while you´re on Mint.
You know, sudo su in a terminal emulator.
