qt 3.3.8 fails to compile in puppy linux 3.01

woof woof!

for various personal purposes, I tried to STATICALLY compiling the

qt 3.3.8 libs
- ftp://ftp.qt.nokia.com/qt/source/qt-x11-free-3.3.8.tar.bz2

in Puppy Linux 3.01

but, at very first stages (qmake building) I get this error:

I also tried to re-compiling the whole glibc-2.5, but I got again same error

can anyone give me some advices to solve?
