I just thought I'd give puppy a shot and I have the latest Ubuntu-compatible version; 5.28 i believe. But the keyboard only works when the caps lock button is on! I don't have this prob with any other version of Linux I've used. The computer is a 2 year old HP with the stock USB keyboard.

Lupu definitely works with USB keyboards. I have no idea why you would be seeing this.

In the event that it's a kernel driver issue, try Slacko.

Just discovered it's intermittent. After a reboot it worked correctly for awhile, then went back to doing the same damn thing. Once again, this does NOT occur on my Chakra installation on the same box.

There is a discussion here that may be related. But it's the only one I could find.

The kernel in Lucid is over 2 years old, compiled May 2010. Chances are it is kernel related. If you want Lucid compat try Three-headed-dog, a Lucid derivative, else try Slacko or Racy.
