It's not fresh in my memory and I'm tired, but do a web search with expression:
(This fabulous web master has everything Linux in one place.)
xine has I think 100 Mg's of plugins for every possible codec. You just need
to download and install them.

with a little help from old applications as Xine-DVD
with a little help from old applications as Xine-DVD, our newer Puppies should play lot of DVDs about Olympic games or football World cups (search with DataCrow for available releases)
