Amarok for .pet

#1 Post by megatoon31 »

Hello I have been eyeing amarok music player for a while and I was wondering if Someone could compile it into a .pet for me. I am new and I have trouble installing anything from source code. By the way the computer I am installing it on does not have internet so I would like it if there was not to be any missing dependencies. I want basically it all in one .pet. But if there is some dependencies I would appreciate if you posted those too. I would very appreciate the help.
by the way I am running puppy 5.2.8...

Amarok is a KDE app. so you will need all the KDE libs in order to run that.

Perhaps you can try Clementine http://www.clementine-player.org/

I thinks it´s an Amarok fork (but I´m not so sure). It´s quite similar to Amarok. I havent tried in Puppy, but the winXP version was quite good.

Try the Ubuntu Lucid .deb

http://clementine-player.googlecode.com ... d_i386.deb

Dependencies should less an easier to find.

Hope to help you.

Galbi.

I'm going to see if clementine works and I'll get back to you later...
Clementine did not work it wont even open. On the other hand a program called goggles media manager did work to open. Although I wasn't able to play any songs. So I'm basically still searching for an easy to install media player and actually works media player for puppy.

Another option: Jajuk

But... it's a Java app. so you need to install the Java virtual machine first.

I could get it to actually work. Thanks anyway. I guess I'll continue using Gnome player. Bye and thanks for your help.

I decided to install Ubuntu instead, and Ubuntu comes with banshee and movie player. So I'm all good now. Thanks for the help...
