How about Puppy as a full-time server?

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

#1 Post by Krishnamurti Naskar »

I am planning a server that runs puppy(saluki 0.2.2-many thanks to jemimah,pemasu,others...)once my exams are over.I gathered some age-old hardware that puppy is known to run like a horse on.

i wanna know what others think of this idea...

A server with hard disk using Linux filesystem will do you good (I say this because Puppy can be used in Flash drive).

Puppy has PPLOG and Hiawatha server by default, although puplets may have changed this.

Member growler has been releasing LHMP (H for Hiawatha) pet in this forum.

You might want to check if your ISP allows servers to be installed....some of them don't and clearly state that in the TOS (Terms of Service).
