Can't Get Audacity Working On Slacko64 6.3.2

#1 Post by mjmikulcik »

So, the audacity-2.0.5 in the ppm doesn't run. It throws a libflac++.so.6 error. I've tried symlinking libflac.so.8 but that doesn't work and instead gives me

audacity: symbol lookup error: audacity: undefined symbol: _ZTIN4FLAC7Decoder4FileE

I don't know what that means and don't know where to start fixing that. I've tried all the other promising audacity pets/sfs files out there that I've found and none of them seem to work. If anyone has any ideas, I could use some help

Heya mjmikulcik,

Is that error with Slacko's devx loaded? Did you update the package manager before downloading?

In slacko 6.3.2 32 bit I have installed audacity-static-1.3.12:

In slacko64 6.3.2 I would try audacity-quirky64-2.1:

EDIT: I have a working package of audacity just tested in slacko64 6.3.2 with some missing libs which comes from the above package. Download audacity-quirky64-2.1-1.pet:

That worked! Thanks a lot. The 2nd link watchdog gave worked although it through some errors in the terminal. I haven't checked if it has any bugs or anything but so far so good! That was very helpful.
