HDMI Ethernet Cable - technology labeled to confuse you

#1 Post by gcmartin »

Got a Shiny New Smart TV. Well you also got some very new technology thats operating under the radar.

Your TV is NOW a LAN Switch for certain home-office devices.

I have just trouble-shooted a problem that is, virtually, not described anywhere. This type of cable has some shielding in it where HDMI signal Integrity REQUIRES!!! this cable for new TVs. Better to be forewarned. There is NO document which tell you this...anywhere.

Oh, and one other thing. I am going out on a limb by saying this to you, but, don't expect to see any phones with this. Unless, of course, if its Apple (since they OWN EVERYTHING xPHONE/xPADs via patents).

For those who have high quality speaker systems, there is an cable HDMI requirement for that too.

Also, PLEASE understand that this is all being done on the HDMI connector...NOT via cables taped together going to separate adapters.

Here to help
