Boot from flash drive while not ignoring saved sessions?

#1 Post by boogerlad1 »

Hi, I've recently discovered puppy linux, and I saw how the pfix=ram option in syslinux.cfg can make puppy linux run completely in ram for improved performance. However, it would ignore all saved sessions. Is there a way to make puppy linux run in ram but not ignore the save files? I'm running puppy linux off of a flash drive btw.

If your save file is on a flash drive, then you already are running in RAM.
(That is, if you have enough RAM to accommodate the working files and save file.)

The save file is initially copied to RAM from the flash drive at boot-up, then periodically copied back to the flash drive during your session.
