How to recompile kernel with sound driver?

#1 Post by ELMIT »

I got from the manufacturer of the motherboard the driver for the sound card used on the board. The manufacturer says the driver is working with Redhat for this board.

The install script, just moved all files into (/mnt/home)/usr/src/linux (which I created with a downloaded kernel source from kernel.org).

How can I compile the kernel /modules ?
cloneconfig did not work, ....

bye

Elmit, does the sound not work in Puppy? Which version of Puppy are you using? Have you tried clicking the desktop Setup icon and running "Setup ALSA sound?"

1.08 and 1.09CE

Alsawizard cannot find a sound card.
Manufacturere gave me a Linux Sound package, but it must be compiled with kernel source. This package is working with Redhat and this board.
