Gnupg - cannot install in Lupu 528-005

I am using Lupu 528-005 frugal install on usb stick. I have Thunderbird 17 and want to use enigmail which requires gnupg. Installed gnupg 1.4.10 and dependency gpgv 1.4.10 from lucid repository in PPM. Enigmail cannot find gnupg.

I am also using Xubuntu 12.04, Precise Puppy 5.4.1 retro, Crunchbang, and Knoppix 6.7.1 and have had no problems with gnupg or enigmail installation or use. In those four distros, enigmail has detected /usr/bin/gpg as the path to gnupg. Gpg does not exist in Lupu 528 after several attempts at gnupg installation.

Any suggestions?
