How to: 'dummy down' my touchpad ?

#1 Post by vmars316 »

LinuxPuppySlacko5.3.3:

Disappearing programs:
Too often, as I move my cursor around, on the screen,
program gui(s) disappear. And downright shutdown.
Seamonkey 2.9.2 works fine for a while, the disappears.

Configure Touchpad:
I am thinking that maybe(for disappearing prob), I'm having Touchpad probs.
Is there a way to 'dummy down' my touchpad (like I do in windows) ?
So it only responds to 1-finger movements ? (no TAP, no Pinch, etc..)

Thanks...vmars316...Vernon

I had the same issue, now I use a mouse plugged into USB port. Sorted :)

It's really not that hard to turn off the tap. Even if you open 10 or 20 windows by accident and end up turning the computer off several times trying to restart the X server so you can get to the flsynclient.

Actually to restart the x server it's easier to do ctrl-alt-backspace to get to text mode then type xwin to get back in.

But what I'm trying to say is that to use touchpad settings it tells you o.k. and that you have to restart the x server - there is a message telling you this on the screen (x server is kind of like the actual stuff on the desktop but you don't restart the o.s.).

Also, sometimes files disappear, I did that a few days ago because I was restarting a Puppy with no save file, but you are not always deleting them, what actually often happens you put them in another folder by accident. Happens too fast to notice though, you have to check nearby folders.
