Uninstalling windows program in wine - SOLVED

#1 Post by wimpy »

Having got Windows spider.exe to run under wine I went for something a bit more ambitious. I installed Torchlight 1 via a DVD . This is a frugal install of Lucid 5.2.8 and the wine is 1.5.17. The installation seemed to go OK and it even installed Directx. Needless to say it doesn't work - major error reported by wine. I now want to uninstall it (Torchlight 1). There is an uninstall on the setup disc but pressing this only seems to set up another install.
Any help in getting rid of this would be appreciated

EDIT I found the answer, myself. You just need to run <wine uninstaller> at a terminal and it acts like the Windows Add/Remove program.

UPDATE For anyone interested, I tried to install Torchlight again, and this time it worked . Torchlight now seems to be running OK under wine, without any of the major reported bugs of the linux version.
LxXenial16.08, LxPupSc17.07.01,Lucid 5.2.8 and others - all frugal
