Puppy 5.4.2.1 frugal - minor boot messsage issue

#1 Post by paulh177 »

I've recently installed Puppy 5.4.2 & added 5.4.2.1 "service pack".
Frugal install with a freshly created 1.2GB save file (i.e. I did not try to upgrade a previous version's save file).

On every boot, the message

Code: Select all

Updating ... layered-filesystem. N ext boot will be faster!
is displayed.

In previous versions as I recall, this message only displayed on the first boot after creation of the save file.

So either an unnecessary update is being performed on each boot, or a superfluous message is being displayed at each boot.

apologies for posting in the wrong sub forum.

could a mod please move this to the appropriate "Bugs" subforum? Or append it to the 5.4.2 feedback thread?

many thanks
