Setting up a dual internet connection

#1 Post by realneo »

I've got the following setup: Precise Puppy latest built with latest service pack.

two routers (router1 and router2)
two network adapters (wlan0 and eth0)
router 1 has internet acces
router 2 is connected with XBMC on XBOX but no internet acces

I want to do the following thing:

wlan0 should be connected to router1 and use the internet connection available from it
eth0 should be connected to router2 and only upload mediafiles through FTP or uPnP

My question:

Is this a possible setup? if yes how do I get it to work?

Sure. Use dhcp to get an address and default route on the wireless, then set a static address and static routes for what you need on the ethernet nic.

You can have only one default route. That needs to point to your web connection.
