Differences between Puppy 1 and 2 Series
One difference between Puppy 1.xx and 2.xx running from CD is how files are saved. (I did use a multisession for a while)
In Puppy1.xx files are saved in /mnt/home and the hda (hard disk) is automatically open or mounted
In Puppy 2 you have to mount with MUT
and the hard drive appears as /mnt/hda or /mnt/hdb (if two drives)
I prefer the old method as it was simpler
this one seems more secure (is it?)
Another noted difference is having volume on the taskbar - I missed this from fvwm95 (our old window manager) Now it is back.
What differences and improvements have you noticed?

I never tried 1.0.9CE so I speak to difference with 1.0.7 and 1.0,8 and 2.0Lobster wrote: What differences and improvements have you noticed?
GParted makes handling partitions a breeze!
Boot is quicker.
Loving it!

Puppy2 with Opera
Barry has released a Barbones 39Meg Puppy2
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/DownloadLatest
on 8/9 June 2006 something more surprising is being released . . . Nathan and Opera fans will be pleased.
Puppy2 with Opera
I say surprising because this is the first time I have heard good things from Barry about Opera. I am a little saddened that Amaya is being considered as a web page creator - NVU would be better.
We also might see a 50 meg Puppy2 from John Murga.
Also I hope we see versions of Hacao and Grafpup based on Puppy2 and perhaps we will hear of other versions - a Chinese Puppy2? - KDE-Puppy2?
Maybe Edu-Puppy and Rescue Puppy?
One thing is clear. The 8 Alphas of Puppy2 helped secure programs and efforts on the final version. We have a very solid, fast and reliable distro.
