If you want a program that translates units I made 'Puppy Units'
so that it could use gettext.

Tutti aggiunti dalla nuova versione 2014 04 08.
I tested CUPS (printer wizard) translations, they finally appeared in the browsers in Precise Retro 5.7.1 but other puppies such as Wheezy and the new Slacko 5.7 have newer versions of CUPS so they need individual translation files.
Abiword translations were left out, I included those as well.

Hi all, i have a little trouble... if I call Gparted from the menu it appear in english but if I call it directly from the path it's all ok!
When I wrote the first localization (2010) for puppy 431 was the same...
Do you know the solution?

my experinence:

gparted_shell

xanad wrote:...for Gparted remain the error...
It is the odd LANG=C thing

Quick solution for you:

Code: Select all

sed -i 's/^export LANG=C/#export LANG=C/' /usr/sbin/gparted_shell
Solution for langpack:
create a file named pinstall_hacks.sh in your directory langpack-template and put the line

Code: Select all

[ `sed -i 's/^export LANG=C/#export LANG=C/' /usr/sbin/gparted_shell` ] || echo '#$LANG=C in gparted_shell'
into this file

See my pinstall_hacks.sh (for other hacks)

Code: Select all

#pinstall_hacks.sh
#sourced by pinstall.sh of /usr/share/doc/langpack-template
#                          ================================

Exactly. In the screenshots above you can see that SeaMonkey is in Italian thanks to the language extension. I was surprised to see CUPS in Italian from Opera in English, though.

Note also that the main CUPS page may appear in English even if the browser is in Italian but the Administration and Printer pages do appear in Italian. At least now it should be a little bit easier to set up printers for Italian speakers.

Congratulations! First page updated. :D

Here are another suggestions in case you don't know what to translate next:
puppyinstaller
bootmanager
alsaconf
bootflash
grub4dos
frugalinstaller
OCI

Don't worry if you think they're very long, there's no need to rush.

i translate the file usr/local/pup_event/frontend_funcs

for this localization:

Image

but is not present in MoMa, I put manually in the langpack ? Or exist another solution?
