How to make a LOCAL DIRECTORY for PPM?

I find my machine does not always offer this option for installing from, so I request that somebody walk me thru the process of setting it up, please.

I do not know about a special directory for ppm
But if you think you need one here is how to create it
use rox (click Home icon)
navigate to where you want to have your new directory
right click
new
directory
clicking on a pet anywhere will install it or deinstall if already installed

where from to download you have the choice of LOCAL directory IIRC

NO, I do NOT ALWAYS have a choice of local directory to download from in PPM. It is very spasmodic. I want to have it as a choice I can control. Please walk me through creating a default local directory as a source of any of the supported linux distributions for PPM,so I can download other distribution files and install them, if that is what will solve my problem, please.

boof? do you mean when you try to use the Puppy Package Manager the drop down list of available repositories does not always work??
or is it something else?

Appologies-
yes,
repositories "local directory" is unreliable.
I feel if I could choose to have/not have someplace on my machine to install s'ware from after I download it I could be happier.

that is LOCAL DIRECTORY which actual name is your secret.
I have showed you how to create it
You know how to download to it or move a file into it
the picture shows how it can be used in ppm
