Mp3 player MTP support in Puppy: go-mtpfs?

#1 Post by captnemo »

Running Slacko 5.3.3 here and am still unsuccessful at getting my Galaxy S III to talk to Puppy.

I'd much prefer the USB mass storage mode which I assumed the Galaxy would support but it doesn't. I'm apparently stuck with using MTP. I've tried Gnomad2 without success.

I recently read about a package called go-mtpfs which was developed by a Google employee who was unhappy with the instability of existing MTP solutions. go-mtpfs apparently lets you mount an MTP device and access it via Nautilus or other file manager. Has anyone tried to get go-mtpfs running on Puppy?

We're having a discussion about the sorry state of MTP support in Linux, etc., over here. You're welcome to join us. :)

Capt, maybe it's as easy as this? You'd probably have to fudge a few Ubuntu pkgs..
