hello everyone,
This is my first time posting here;Puppy linux is an awesome os It runs blazing fast on my netbookand I can't believe how easy it is to set it up and how small yet complete puppy is.You guys are freaking amazing!
I am using lxpup (on a pendrive) and yesterday when I updated quickpet I got a message saying that setvice pack is available and yhat puppy package manager would notify about it when it's launched.I tried launching the package manager many time but nothing?
Any help please and regards,

Which version of LxPup please?
LxPupThar14.12.2 already has the service pack built in so that may be confusing the update mechanism (which comes from the underlying Puppy Tahr 6.0CE)

Could you try updating to 14.12.2 please:
http://lx-pup.weebly.com/current-download.html
download the iso
click on it to open it
copy the 4 files to your pendrive to overwrite or delete what is already there:
- initrd.gz
vmlinuz
puppy-lxtahr...sfs
zdrv-lxtahr...sfs

@peebee- Sorry for the late post;was busy...
copied the 4 files ,deleted the old one's and rebooted.
The upgrade went smoothly and I was able to update ppm and install some packages(mtp, usb storage) too.
But,the message is still shown in quickpet????should I reset quick pet(how) ???
And,also one more question regarding lxpup-Is this the normal way to upgrade the os;If so it's freaking awesome
(lxpup is so good that I will recommend window users to try it as their first os for an gnu/linux experience)

Suspect the message is just telling people the Service Pack is available - you can safely ignore it now you've updated.
Yes - this is the upgrade mechanism for all Puppies (not just LxPup) which have been frugally installed.....
