Sound stopped working in Slacko 5.3 frugal

#1 Post by linbie »

Hi

Have slacko 5.3 Frugal dual boot with Win XP

Sound was working fine until tonight. Started computer and booted with Puppy. Seem to boot up as usual however no sound icon in the notification trey and no sound from speakers. Alsa - no sound card detected. Working fine under Win XP. Tried a USB sound card - detected works with Win XP however not detected by Puppy.

Not sure what to do next

Looks like its the save file

Looks like its the save file that is the culprit.

The sound card is detected and works fine if Slacko is loaded into ram without save file

I think I may have to ditch the save file and start again

You could try the suggestions here to check the save file and maybe correct found problems.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
