BTRFS direct support via GUI apps...

#1 Post by edwardb »

As it stands, any puppy that's running a linux kernel v2.6.30 or greater has (kernel level) access to the btrfs. Obviously, the younger the kernel version, the better the support.

And support is there... via CLI. But WHO want's to continue to do it the CLI way? i sure don't... not when a DE is in front of me on the screens!

We want to go beyond CLI into GUI. Pmount, PCmanFS, etc. apps already manipulate the other filesystems... what will it take for them to do the same with btrfs storage areas?

More importantly, what can *i* do so that across the puppies out there, there will be consistant support for the btrfs storage areas?

try gentoo FM, it is very configurable that you can create button to actually run your script.
