Very likely.
acpid is an daemon in the background normally started by a script in /etc/init.d/ at boottime
that acts similar to f.ex. udevd :
It polls /proc/acpi/* files named button or similar,
and then launches scripts usually in /etc/acpi .

Hello Karl Godt,

- Exactly but where do i get that package for Puppy Linux Precise.?

- I have acpid for Lucid puppy - and there it works perfectly.

Best regards,
Johan
