open com port on LUPU528

#1 Post by iw2evk »

Hi,
on my toshiba notebook i've lupu 528.
I've try to use the com port withan interface for programming via chirp

http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 34&t=71968

a radio transceiver.
But the com port seem "dead".In fact the program don't connect the radio and a message indicate problem on com port.I've also try others program ffor windows under Wine with same results.
If i boot freedos form cd the com work fine, so i thinks an error initializing the port under puppy lupu.

Someone have suggest for "open" the com port in puppy?

P.s i've tried setserial command without results

Thanks

Could be the firewall blocking the port.

menu->Setup->Linux- Firewall Wizard

When you run the wizard choose the custom option.
This allows you to choose what port is open or closed.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected :shock:
