Slacko 5.5 - Comparing PAE vs 4G

Slacko 5.5 has been made available in its final format. It is now Generally Available (GA) in the community.

Both versions, namely "4G" and "PAE" offer identical desktop apps and subsystems.

This report intends to remove questionable concerns about the value of the offerings in the community.

This test was done by the community last year under different distro environments where the results by community members who tested were positive and favorable on PCs that have the PAE feature. This includes most Intels and AMD PCs sold since 1995.

This testing is done in a controlled environment, the distros are tested Pristine and identical steps were followed for each.

It appears that PAE offers an edge over 4G.

There is NO suggestion implied or actual which indicates that anyone should change directions that they have already taken.

But, this is data which allows scrutiny and personal evaluation for confidence in a direction that they would choose.

The PC used is a 32bit laptop of meager means.

Here are the reports.
Edit: Hardinfo now contains full system reports. Removed the summary reports.

So the difference in performance between 4G and PAE is trivial in artificial tests and probably even more trivial for real world use!
