You must be smarter than the equipment you are operating.

In Rox file manager

Right click on an item.
Choose trash or choose delete.

Trash sends the item to the trash.
Delete does just that,

Thank you, bigpup. Actually, the point wasn't how to use it nor my intelligence vs. the machine's, but your instructions may be as helpful as my advice was intended to be to a new Puppy user. Since this *is* Linux not Windows, it does happen that many M$ users are nonplussed to discover that difference. Many Windows programs do have a Linux counterpart that works in a similar way, but Delete is not Recycle Bin. As Trash looks very similar to it, newbs expect that a file they Delete would be found there, not gone. I hope we have saved someone from finding this out the hard way. It can be a very painful lesson otherwise.
