Document management CMS for Multimedia CD-ROM archive?

#1 Post by darrelljon »

I'm trying to build a multimedia dvd-rom for offline use, kind of like encarta. I have hundreds of opendocuments I want to make categorise and make easily searchable, displayable and convertable into epub/kindle. Kinda like an offline scribd, issuu or archive.org I suppose. Any software recommendations or general ideas? I'm imagining Firefox interface at the moment but I might be missing something.

If you stored the documents in a MediaWiki, you could make a ZIM file and view with Kiwix. Like DataPacRat's offline Wikipedia project-

You can export odt documents to MediaWiki. Although I don't know what the quality of the output is.
